Connie Gemmer

Connie Gemmer is Vice President of Barton & Gingold. As a Communications Strategist she specializes in public relations, marketing and community outreach.

Very often, she helps clients achieve widespread public acceptance for projects or policy issues, by anticipating regulatory and citizen roadblocks and developing strategies to overcome them. This process includes research, message development and the preparation of effective communications plans.

She leads a team of associates of Barton & Gingold in implementing marketing communications efforts, and oversees media relations for a variety of clients.

She is the firm’s representative in the Northeast Public Relations Partnership, an affiliation with six other public relations firms throughout New England, and New York. The Partnership serves to broaden the firm’s access to national media on behalf of all clients, and to access state-of-the-art communications strategies.

For non-profit organizations, she assists with corporate and individual fundraising campaigns, marketing plans, educational programs and membership expansion. Ms. Gemmer is a winner of the YWCA Tribute to Women in Industry Award and a graduate of Leadership Maine.

She is very active in her community having served on numerous boards, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine; the Children’s Museum of Maine; and the Portland Symphony Orchestra. She is also a parent volunteer in the Portland Public Schools.
